After numerous meetings within which over 90 Women from the Hyatt Department of Housekeeping participated, a committee was formed called HYATT HOUSEKEEPERS UNITED FOR OUR RIGHTS.

By December we knew the hotel was still planning to impose the new policy. It was agreed that we would sign a petition stating our opposition to the "30 Room Program." On December 13, 2005 over 120 Women signed the petition, representing nearly 90% of the Department of Housekeeping.
On December 14, 2005, 125 Women from HYATT HOUSEKEEPERS UNITED FOR OUR RIGHTS participated in a silent protest and marched into the employee entrance of the Manchester Grand Hyatt to deliver the petition. 125 Women is over 90% OF THE DEPARTMENT!
IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE KNOW THAT WE ARE UNITED AND CONTINUE TO OPPOSE TO THE "30 ROOM PROGRAM." We are getting organized and we will struggle for our rights.
